The Jung Foundation is hosting a book launch party in support of OAJA analysts Brian Mayo’s and Patti Brannigan’s new book, published by Inner City Books.

Please join us in the Arts & Letters Club’s beautiful Great Hall.
Hors d’oeuvres will be served, and the Club’s cash bar will be open.

The book’s authors will be in attendance.

As well as celebrating the authors’ achievement, this event is a chance for those interested in Jungian psychology – Jungian analysts, training candidates, and members of the public – to foster community and support modern scholarship and creative work in this field.

Reception begins at 5:30 pm in the Lounge, and the authors’ brief introduction to the book at 6:00 pm.
Signed book copies will be available for purchase for $20 (regularly $25)

Skin Deep: Manifestations of the Unconscious in Everyday Life explores how the phenomena of the universal practice of tattooing demonstrates C.G. Jung’s understanding of how the reality of the unconscious psyche manifests in day-to-day life. The stories and images of the research participants featured in the book make a compelling argument for how collective archetypal energies are made manifest through the choices individuals make when choosing their tattoos, largely unaware of the complex psychological dynamics that inform them.

Brian Mayo has a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, and an MSW from the University of Toronto. He graduated from the C.G. Jung Institute in Zurich, Switzerland, and is a founding member of the Ontario Association of Jungian Analysts Training Program.

Patricia Brannigan received a B.A. from Laurentian University in Ontario, and an M.A. from the University of Northern Michigan. She has multiple teaching certificates and supervisory qualifications in the field of education. She is a graduate and former Director of Training of the OAJA Analyst Training Program.
